Baseball Outs is a game you play with friends when watching a baseball game. Draft the players in the field each half-inning to form a team. Get credit when one of your players records an out. If your players record two outs, you win the half-inning. Win and you get one point from each of your friends and they each lose a point. Baseball Outs makes it easy to see who is winning points and who is losing points. Put some skin in the game with Baseball Outs.

Tap Create Game button on the home screen.
Create your player name. Facebook is the easiest way to create your player name, add friends to the game and communicate game results.
After you create your player name add your friends to the game and tap the Start Game button.

Draft order Back to top

Players draft positions in the field each half-inning.
The draft order is determined randomly in the first half-inning of play and proceeds 1-n and n-1 until all defensive positions are drafted.
The draft order advances one player every half inning so all players have the opportunity to pick first.
Example: in a 3 player game the draft order in the top of the first inning is: PlayerA, PlayerB, PlayerC. Therefore the players will pick in the following sequence: 1^st pick PlayerA, 2^nd pick PlayerB, 3^rd pick PlayerC, 4^th pick PlayerC, 5^th pick PlayerB, 6^th pick PlayerA, 7^th pick PlayerA, 8^th pick PlayerB, 9^th pick PlayerC. In the bottom of the first inning the draft order advances one player so the draft order will be: PlayerB,PlayerC, PlayerA.

Players draft positions by tapping them on the screen.
In a 2 player game each player drafts 4 positions from 8 total positions: P (gets credit for Ks), C/1B, 2B, SS, 3B, RF, CF, LF
In a 3 player game each player drafts 3 positions from 9 total positions: P (gets credit for Ks), C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, RF, CF, LF
In a 4 player game each player drafts 2 positions from 8 total positions: P (gets credit for Ks), C/1B, 2B, SS, 3B, RF, CF, LF

You get credit for an out when one of your players records an out.
When a position in the field makes an out, tap the position to record the out.
Position that fields the ball and throws it gets credit for the out. For example, the SS fields a ground ball and throws to 1B. The SS gets credit for the out.
Position that catches a fly ball gets credit for the out.
Pitcher gets credit for strikeouts.
In assisted double-plays, both players get credit for one out. For example, the SS fields a ground ball and throws to 2B, who throws to 1B. The SS and 2B each get credit for one out.
In unassisted double-plays, one player gets credit for both outs. For example, the SS fields a ground ball, tags second base and throws to 1B. The SS gets credit for two outs.

The winner of the half-inning is the player whose drafted positions make two or more outs.
The winner of the half-inning gets 1 point from each player in the game. Each losing player loses 1 point.
Example: if four people are playing, the winner of a half-inning gets 3 points and each loser loses 1 point.
The winners at the end of the game are the players with positive points. The losers are the players with negative points. Positive and negative points make it easy to see who won points and who lost points.

If a player's group of positions make all three outs in a half-inning, the winner gets double points. For example, in a four player game a half-inning is normally worth 3 points. If one player drafts LF and RF and those positions make all three outs in the half-inning, then the point value of the half-inning doubles from 3 points to 6 points for the winner and from -1 point to -2 points for each of the losers.
If any one of a player's positions makes all 3 outs in a half-inning, the winner gets triple points. For example, in a 4 player game if the P strikes out the side, the point value of the half-inning triples from 3 to 9 points for the winner and from -1 point to -3 points each of the losers.

If each player in a half-inning has a position that makes an out, the half-inning is a tie and the points for the half-inning carryover to the next half-inning.
Example: in a four player game the SS, P and LF each make an out and each position was selected by a different player, then the half-inning is a tie. The 3 points for the half-inning carryover to the next half-inning, so the next half-inning is worth 6 points.
